Since you are in Austraila, I am not sure what products are available to you. Are the BSN and Optimum products coming from a local distributor? Any other options?
The BSN product is likely more expensive, but I would take the True Mass over the Optimum.

Yeah, it's the best site for us to purchase it from.
The BSN is meant for me, to gain muscle, and the Optimum is for my mate, who wants to gain weight. So all i wanted to know was, if these two supplements would be good for both of us?

They are both meal replacement / weight / muscle gain products. Similar in terms of their purpose.
BSN products are expensive but I do like them better than Optimum products.
Neither one of those products will alter hormone levels or contains anything to help boost strength / endurance and so your training will be the most important factor along with the rest of your diet. There are some good training programs on here and a lot of good diet info, but if you need help let me know.

Weight gainers are meant to give you extra calories through out the day to help you gain mass. The two products that you mentioned will work well for that purpose. They will not give you strength/endurance benefits though. In the simplest form they are liquid food to supplement real food in order to reach your caloric needs for the day. Takes these and if you want something for endurance/strength as well, you can get a creatine product. Being that you are just starting I would recommend just getting creatine monohydrate in powder form. It is the cheapest way to go and the most proven for effectiveness. Hope this was helpul.

Ahh i see, would you suggest using Creatine Monohydrate along with a protein supplement? Money is not really a issue here.
Ive heard mixing a tea spoon of Creatine with your protein shake can be great what do you guys think?

You can mix it in your protein shake if you really want. Personally i take it with powdered gatorade and about 8 oz. water. The dextrose in the powdered gatorade helps creatine absorption. As I said, you can put it in protein shake, but I wouldn't. You can even just mix it in with a glass of fruit juice (grape works).
Also, if you do take creatine make sure that you consume enough water every day. Preferably about 1 gal/day. Creatine can dehydrate you quickly if you dont.

You can use both. I just wouldnt use them combined in one drink. You need some type of post workout nutrition consisting of protein and carbs after your workout. I would do this if you intend to get both creatine and protein powder.
Preworkout- you should consume a meal roughly 1-1 1/2 hour prior to your workout. Then about 15 min. before your workout drink your creatine and gatorade mix. (when you take creatine isnt really all that important, consistency is)
During workout- water (I drink about 48 oz. water throughout the course of my workout)
Post workout- Protein shake with some type of carbs. Some people use oats, dextrose, or waxy maize. Its basically personal preference. I have always used honey and 1/2 cup oats with 1 1/2 scoops of protein powder in skim milk for my post workout shake. 1-1 1/2 hour later eat a good meal.
Hope that helped.

That seems too expensive. You should be able to find a smaller size creatine than 2.2 lbs - that will last you over a year if it is pure creatine monohydrate.
If the optimum gainer is that price then I woudl not purchase it, you are wasting your money. Just make your own high calorie shake with olive oil, peanut butter, skim milk, eggs, fruit, etc.
There might be a simple whey protein that you can find for less money. Sorry I cannot be of more help but I do not have any friends in Austraila or know much about the local supplement companies. Try to find a product that is not imported as it will save you tremendously.

well in Australia we don't have nearly as good supplements or access to most American ones, they are possibly more expensive. The optimum gainer is about the same price on all websites but this one has free shipping so i think i might stick with it. thnx
