Does anyone know how much vitamin E is too much? Is 500 IU a day too much?

with vitamin E you want to limit it to about 400% your daily value. it is harmful because unlike most vitamins its fat soluble and can cause problems

I take a multi-v PLUS a separate Vit-E. What sort of problems?

Yeh, I take a multi in the morning w/ 100 IU(an IU is roughly 1mg) and I just started taking a 400 IU cap after my workout. So that's a total of 500 IU/mg a day. According to Yates in his article "The Power of Vitamins" he recommends 400-600mg a day. So this seems to be ok then.

No, you can take a good deal more. Symptoms of vitamin e toxicity are quite rare. I use 800IU a day, and 1200IU a day is not an uncommon dosage. I wouldn't generally recommend going much higher than that, though.
