Has this happened to anyone else? Above my eyes lids and on my neck I seemed to have popped blood vessels. It isnt that bad I was just surprised.

Today I squatted 380x2 in wraps+belt and kept tight throughout. A lot of blood rushes to my face obviously, but I did not imagine this could happen.

I used to get that a lot. At meets I used to blow blood vessels in my eyes. Now that rocks! Oddly I got them in my forearms at my last meet. Talk about straining a body part. Don't sweat it. You'll be fine.

Use to get it? I remember I use to get really bad popped blood vessels on my back from the bar but not really any more. I guess it happens less and less as I get more experienced.

It's petechial hemorrhage. The increase in blood pressure during the lift causes your capillaries near the surface of the skin to burst, causing the bruising/purplish appearance in spots. I get it every ME workout. It usually goes away after a day or two, until the next heavy workout. It's kind of like a badge of honor, like the bruising on the chest/arms from the shirt. Don't worry about it. It ain't goin' to kill ya. (I don't think)

Yeh I know what the condition is. If you guys seem to get it and you haven't died from an aneurysm than it must be ok lol.

I get it all the time. My face will be all swollen (or maybe its just fat), and sometimes when I squat Ill break blood vessels from my head down to the middle of my chest.

You aren't born with an aneurysm. It developes during your lifetime. If you have one in your head, and it ruptures, you're gone. It happened to a friend of mine recently. He wasn't a powerlifter, but it took him unexpectedly during a high stress situation. Lifting heavy **** can be dangerous and if you're worried about getting hurt, don't do it.

Its a common occurrence for me too. One time I had a few down the side of my face from squatting, my wife flipped out saying I looked like a vampire. My kids thought it was cool though...

I always feel like a wannabe every time I stray into the powerlifting section, but I got a nose bleed from broken blood vessels during some heavy squats once. Finished my set too. Felt pretty hardcore. Scared other gym members.

After my last squat/stone training workout, I started to see colors in my right eye and it ****ed with my vision for about and hour. It happend really bad about 2 years ago, I just got to work after my workout and it started in. I started to see black spots all over, it got so bad I thought I was going blind. But as soon as I started to worry about it, it went away. lol
