That is for SURE a great routine! Please keep in mind the EXACT routine that Eddy did is outlined in his Ed Coan Deadlift VIDEO. I have yet to find it posted on the web, but in a nutshell it is standard periodization starting with 3x8, to 3x5, to 1x5, then 3x3 then a few weeks later 1x3, then 1x2 and one week of easy singles. He did very heavy 5 rep SLDLs off the plate and same with heavy bb rows, 5 rep sets. Heavy chins and lat pulls as well. It was a great routine that was basic, brutal, and made ALOT of sense, but goes one hundred percent against what many feel is the basic Westside way of training the deadlift. Having known Eddy for many years, his routine towards the end of his career changed a bit after that video in that he often saved a rep so to speak, and rarely did more than one balls out set. His major assistance moves were high bar close stance squats, no belt, below parallel and he still did his heavy BB rowing.
