Well as some may know yesterday I competed in my first powerlifting competition ever. It was held at Phillips Highschool in Philips Wisconsin.(Mabye some of you know about it or mabye you were even there, who knows) I have to say I had a freakin blast! I am already all pumped up for next year.
My schools powerlifting team took 3rd place out of 14 schools and 150+ lifters. Which is actually pretty remarkable because last year was our first year and only 3 people competed.:D I myself took 3rd in the 242 weight class with a total of 1020.:strong: I was hoping for a bit higher total but whatever, my deadlift just wasn't with it, a bit of trouble with moving the feet.
My lifts were as followed.
Squat: 320 345 370
-I can't be to dissapointed with squatting because I set a personal best and I had alot more in me as you will see in the video.
Bench: 210 225 235
-I have been kicking myself for this one because I went 235 as my highest but after doing that I realized I could have gone 15-20 pounds higher, all well)
Deadlift: 415 430 435
-I am defiantly dissapointed with myself on this one. I started strong with getting a incredibly easy 415 and then proceeding to 430 which I did not get due it resting on my leg for a split second. So at this point I was a bit flustered and dissapointed and my confidence was going down the drain. So I just decided to try 435. I put it up easy, I personally thought I had good form and was waiting for the 3 white lights...3 reds. I was crushed. I asked why I had gotten them and apparently my feet moved a bit. Which was pretty iffy. So my highest was 415 in deadlift, defiantly not what I wanted.
