I've searched on here, as well as many other sites and just can't get a ballpark figure for how much dextrose I should be taking in post-workout?

I've read some crazy figures like for 30 g of protein I "should" be putting in up to 5 x that?? From dextrose dosages from as low as 5 g (approx. 1 tspn) to 150+ grams.

My pwo shake I put in one scoop (that came with the bucket) and it's about 36 g of protein, so how many tspns or grams of dextrose should I be putting in with that?

I'm 200 lbs right now and I'm still bulking...

Whatever fits into your diet plan but the figure I see most often is 2x the carbs as protein for post workout. So 72g of dex with 36g of protein would work well.

Yeah you're right that seems to be the most prevalent dextrose to protein ratio 2:1. But that seems like an insane amount of sugar to be ingesting...

Why insane? Due to the timing, it wont get used like it would if you were to say...down a cup of sugar water before bed. If you're worried about the amount, say why you're worried and let us help you out!

Exactly. 2:1 is usually what I follow when it comes to my post workout carbohydrates to protein.

We talked about it here: http://www.wannabebig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122882

And an article here

I would take 40g dextrose and 40g maltodextrin.
I taken them in skim milk, with about 52g whey protein, 5g glutamine, 2-3g creatine. Usually 32 oz or so.

So does it really matter what I take the whey and dextrose with?

I'm currently using unsweetened soy milk just for the taste/texture/calories, I like it better than using water.

That sounds okay. But why SOY milk?

"Asian people can absorb 96% of the soy they consume, while for Caucasians it's a paltry 16%."

Yes? According to Charles Poliquin. I believe it. Plus, soy sucks for other reasons.
