I have been doing squats and deads barefoot. I really need a good lifting shoe but have been short on cash. Would this shoe be considered one of the better ones?

These are good for olympic lifting, front squats, overhead pressing, etc.

The heel is a little high for most people for deadlifts though.

Definitely a good deal if you are looking to do the olympic lifts, for simply deads / squats I would just get chuck taylors. Look at Ross or Marshalls and you can find them for $15-25.
