Well I haven't posted a video in awhile so I figured I'd get one today.

Today Greg and I put doubled mini bands and 3 sets of chain on for a little something different. We worked up to 345 bar weight(+260lbs tension weight) for a full range single and then up to 405 bar weight(+260) for a single off 3brd.

What we liked about this set up was normally with bands, the heavier the tension you go, the more it locks you into a groove, which is helpful for that specific exercise, but doesn't translate as much over to a full range shirted bench. With adding the chains in there this created more motion with the bar and made it more difficult to lock in a groove.

Reason I chose monster minis and only 3 sets of chain was because the combined tension weight of 260lbs was about as much as you want to go with tension weight in relation to the bar weight. Just as with squatting, if you have too much tension weight, the exercise loses its effectiveness.

I intended to get video of the full range set as well, but accidently set the camera on picture mode so all I've got is a nice picture LOL.

Here's the video

It looked like you had more in you. That's a pretty cool setup. I've mixed chains/bands on squat but never on bench.

Great work Travis! I wish I had short arms. A 3 board for me is about 1/4 of my ROM LOL

LOL I'm tryin to pack it on before summer hits. I usually lose around 10-20lbs come summer. Partly because my GPP training goes way up and partly because my workload goes crazy and with the added stress my appetite takes a bit of a dive.

I'm putting a nicely sized mini fridge into my gym though so I can keep some stuff on hand at work while I'm training. The protein bars will help too.

Sitting right at 259 right now.

Although it'd be awesome to be a super

Great lifting! That is a very tough workout. I did bands the other day with Priest and I am still hurting. Keep up the good work.

If those are convicts (which they look like they are) Travis gets 10 more cool points, I love my convicts...

Bingo. Love those convicts. They are seriously the stiffest and longest lasting wraps I've had. Had those for about 8mths now and they are still like brand new.

The Strangulators are pretty sweet too. I may try those out on a longer term basis. Mostly right now I've only used them when I steal Luke's wraps
