View Full Version : My stable calorie theory, hm?

My theory is as follows:

Keeping calorie the same throughout bulking and cutting. Heres the logic,

Start on a higher than maintenance calories diet then keep this the same, as your weight/bulk increases to a certain point that calorie intake then becomes lower than your maintenance, creating the defecit needed for cutting.

Has anyone used this before, would it work?

The second half doesnt make any sense.

Suppose you are 200 lbs., you eat at surplus to get to 220. If you keep cals the same, you should remain at 220, unless you increase your physical activity. I suppose you would recomp SLOWLY, but you'd be better off cutting.

Yea the idea would be to increase activity by making my noobie gains, then the gained weight would increase maintenance calories thus removing the surplus calories which would then result in cutting? Sorry if this doesnt make much sense im quite new to this.

I see where you're going with that, but the difference won't be big enough for it to matter.
