Woman Dies After Swordfight Between Men
Police: Woman Stepped Between Men During Fight

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman died after a swordfight involving her brother-in-law and her grandson at a home on Indianapolis' far-northwest side early Thursday morning.

Indianapolis police Sgt. Matt Mount said Adolf Stegbauer, 69, and Chris Rondeau, 39, were involved in an argument at a home in the 5200 block of Raceway Road at about 1 a.m.

One of the men grabbed a sword as the dispute escalated, prompting the other man to also brandish a sword.

Franziska Stegbauer, 77, stepped between the men and was stabbed. She later died at Wishard Memorial Hospital.

The two men were also taken to Wishard suffering from stab wounds.

It was not immediately known if the woman's death was a result of stab wounds or a possible heart attack, police said.

Investigators are trying to determine who started the fight and which man stabbed the other first.

Do you have any weapons?
I just got this in the mail today http://www.weaponmasters.com/shopping/Historical-15th-Century-War-Hammer-p-16250.html

I was looking at swords, but I don't want to buy a stainless steel one (I hear they break pretty easily), and all the carbon steel based swords start at a minimum of $100.

BudK sells that same hammer.

I do actually have a few. I've got some wallhanger-type swords, a pretty nice 3-piece Paul Chen katana set, and a few different knives...a set of 3 6" throwers, 3 different balisongs, and some other assorted cheap flea market stuff.

I'd really like to get some blades by Cold Steel. Those are just incredible. If you see their demo videos, you'd **** bricks. Since I like balisongs, I'd really like to get a Benchmade Model 42 and a Spyderco Spyderfly just because those are the purest form of awesome.

I went to their site, do they have the demo videos on there? Or are they only available on their DVD's?

Swordfighing is a great way to resolve your differences. More people should really do it. That woman should have known better than to get between them, though.

There's just an idea. I have the Sword Proof DVD but they have another one that's out. I don't know why I got it, it just arrived in the mail one day. It's crazy.

After watching those clips I know why you got it. Although they could really do without the echoey 80's fighter pilot music.

Pretty cool but cutting up fruit and vegetables in a variety of ways doesn't make you a samurai.

who would have a sword fight to resolve their problems?? I would think a fist fight would be enough...

A fist fight lacks the same style as good old fashioned melee combat.

A sword fight is the most metal way to solve a problem
