I have tried various methods of exercise and weight loss, but nothign has worked very well. I was wondering whether anyone could give a reliable method of lossing the most amount of weight in the fastest time and also gaining muscle mass in a short space of time????

Your best bet, if you want to go natural, is just to get a very solid diet based around your BMR and your body fat percentage. A few hundred calories over BMR every day, and then start lifting weights 3-4 times a week, with cardio of some sort maybe 1-3x a week, depending on your body.
You'll find out. Normally it takes people a year to find out what works for them. Damn shame, huh?
