I know you can buy chalk online at EFS, but would any local stores carry the type of chalk used for lifting? I'm not worried about the price; I was just thinking that if I could pick it up locally then that would be easier. Thanks.

Theres a random supplement shop that sells it here. Dicks or stores like that don't carry it for the most part. You might try looking in the phone book and calling sporting goods stores.

I bought some at an REI, if you have any stores that sell rockclimbing gear they should have some.

rock climbing places would be the best bet. although some only have the ground up powdered kind (as opposed to block chalk).

Online is where we've gotten ours for the most part. Try amazon.com

rock climb gyms, gymnasium's, hardcore gyms, or try local sporting good stores (big-5, sports authority, etc).

I got some at a local sports authority awhile back.

Thanks, guys. I actually just remembered that I live about 20 mins away from the APT Pro Wrist Straps Company (not sure if that is the official name, but the company that produces Convicts, etc.) so I may check with them and see if I can stop by their warehouse one day this week. I'm sure they would have it. If not, I will check out some of the stores you guys mentioned. Again, I appreciate the help.

Edit: Just found out that the place is right behind the hardcore gym I go to. I can't believe it was sitting under my nose the whole time.

In the new digital age, we forget that the phone is still sometimes the fastest way to get info. Call the sporting goods, camping/climbing stores in your area and ask.

Theres a nutrition store next to me that sells chalk either in 4x4 or 12x12 blocks. The 4x4 is 2 bucks. I believe the 12x12 is 10. If needed, shoot me a pm and id be glad to send some to who needs it.

bullriders keep a little bag with them called a "rosin bag" that they rub in between their hands to help grip the bullriding rope......works great for gripping....i have always wondered if anyone uses this stuff

Rosin works fine for most things in the gym, but it has a very slight sticky residue.
