The last time i posted some pics on here was early 2007 when i first started to lift http://www.wannabebig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94371 . I have been doing a lot of reading and lifting since then. Tell me what you guys think, if I need more work on a particular body part, bf%, any critique more then welcome. I have been lifting for about 2 1/2 years, current lifts are BP:300x1 Squat:315x4 DL:315x4. In my most recent pics i was 173lbs, trying to continue my cut from 185lbs. I am working hard on cutting to get some ab definition.

MadScientist,Beast, Thomas, and Slash: thanks for the support guys, it feels good to have come this far since my senior year of high school.

Does anyone have some constructive words though? I need some motivation :)

I'm not sure what you're diet looks like, but that may be the reason your abdominals aren't showing up yet. Great work though.

I agree with the rest, awesome job!

If you're looking for contructive words, I think your traps are the lagging part which can be seen by your deadlift in comparison to your BP. Hit the deadlifts hard!

again though, awesome work.

Awesome work man, you should feel good about your progress. I didnt start lifting until my senior year in high school either so its always amusing to look back at high school pics.

As for criticism, the only thing I think needs a little work is your back. As cards mentioned, deadlifts would be good or rack pulls, not necessarily for your traps (I think your traps are fine) but for overall density and thickness. I'd also suggest making pull ups and heavy rows a priority to improve those lats. Maybe add in some ab work if you dont already. This is just nitpicking though, you've done great.

Keep it up, bro.

haha great comments guys, thanks! as for my back though, I have been deadlifting hard for about a year. I usually workout 3 days a week with the one of the big three each day, and I always grab some pull ups. Maybe I'll have to just go heavier on the dl's to bring my back up.

I think your spinal erectors are what is lacking the most. Other than that, not bad at all. You look like a hippy, but at least a hippy who could kick someones ass!

This is what everyone should strive to do in 4 years. Excellent work so far. Your legs and back certainly are lagging in comparison to your arms and shoulders. Chest looks good, but there is plenty of room to improve there as well. As someone else stated, and you acknowledged, you need to increase the weight you are using in deadlifts. that is one sure fire way to improve the back. Squatting needs to improve as well. You have plenty of time to do both. Great job and great potential.

Here's me at a local strongman. Took first place for the under 200 class while repping the ALN tee.

Well nothing like bringing back a dead thread with some solid new progress photos. Haven't been on here much but still have been taking ALN's nitrean+, creatine, and fish oils on the daily. I dieted down from my heaviest of about 200lbs seen above to 162 for my first ever show, I competed at a local Novice event in the middleweight division where I took 2nd place. Enjoy the pics guys and I can't thank this site enough for getting me started on this very long fruitful journey. My plans for the future will be to compete in July 13th at the Mich Natural contest. If anyone wants to recommend me a new workout routine for putting some size on by July feel free to chime in--I've ran most of the routines on here more than once. Posing def needs work for next show; any and all constructive criticisms are welcome, always have room to improve! Thanks guys!

Who did you come in 2nd too on that stage? I don't see how you didn't win. You look awesome man. Looking forward to your July post.

I'd love to read a journal on your way to your next comp.

One of my favorite journals was from a guy called BennetBoy, he documented his journey to his first show with his routines, diet, overall mood, etc. It was awesome. I'm 99.9% sure it's not longer on the site and he hasn't posted here in years. :(

HA don't even get me started on the judging. But in the most muscular mandatory the guy on my left took 1st place. I can post side by sides if anyone else would care to see. I'm about to graduate college this month so I think I may give the journey thing a go once things settle down a bit. If anyone is on instagram you can follow me there I'm always posting progress shots and food porn --DanielSetser is my username.
