View Full Version : would my flax spoil if I left it out of the fridge for 12 hours?

and also would it spoil if I had a big bottle of it and kept it in the fridge for a few months?

had the bottle already been opened when you left it out?
if yes, then yeah..it might be spoiled.
if no - then nah, it's cool. and yeah you can keep it i think up to 3 months in the fridge after i's been opened.

I wouldnt trust it. If it smells funny, tastes like crap, and goes down harshly, its probably ok. Otherwise, I wouldnt trust it with my daughter even if I knew this "flax" all my life.
We're talking about oil, right?

LOL! Are you saying that if it goes bad it will taste better?
tryska - yes it's been opened. but the cap was on when it was left out.

yeah but the seal was still broken.
ummm..have you tasted normal flax before? if so then take a sip. if it doesn't taste like it usually does, then it's rancid.

alrighty then. I will open a new bottle and feed my parents the rest of whats left. not much left there anyway.

I'm saying that flax tastes like pure, unrefined swill. I mix it in Tuna, and other than the two minutes it takes for me to mix me tuneh, it doesnt see the light of day.
Of course, even if it did go bad, I'd still eat it on principle. Thats good money.
