Not sure if that is what they are called, but I was at a new sporting goods store in my area and they had a ton of different types of bars. It was awesome. As I was checking each of them out individually I noticed they had some bars that were hex in shape. So, it looked like a standard bar except rather than being round it was hex. Meaning if you cut the bar in half and looked at the cut it would be hex instead of round. What are these types of bars for, deadlifting?

Trap bars designed originally by Gerard.

Deadlifting, shrugs, high pulls, whatever.

Not what he's talking about.

I've seen the bars you're talking about, identical to straight bar but instead of a round shape, its hexagonal. Been to a commerical gym that had bars like this.

No idea what the benefit is over a regular bar, except maybe easier to hold onto
