I'm back now from the WABDL World Cup meet in Wisconsin Dells and everything went well. I finally got 600 on deadlift!
It went like:
1st - 545 easy, 3 white lights!
2nd - 600.7 tough but good speed and no problem with lockout...this was better than my 590 2 months ago, 3 white lights!
3rd - 606 got it off the floor but didn't have enough left to get it past my knees, no good
Still, I beat out the other guy in my class (he got 551?) and I had the best coefficient out of the Class 1 lifters.
Lynn also had a great meet. She hit an all-time PR and shattered the state record in 132 open women (and lifting Raw, at that!).
She did:
1st - 319, it flew up like nothing, 3 white lights
2nd - 352, no good, she got it over her knees but was too far forward to lock it out
3rd - 352, this time she pulled it perfectly and made it look easy, 3 white lights!
4th - 358, she tried to set her record higher but just didn't have anything left
Our team had a total of about 17 lifters there and everybody set some kind of PR there. There were some other great lifters at the WABDL World Cup as well...Tom Eiseman, Tommy Harrison, Robert Vick, Roger Ryan, Bill Gillespie among others. Eiseman hit his opener of 716 on DL easily but then just missed on the lockout twice with 771. Tommy Harrison benched over 800 as a 275. Robert Vick got his 850-something opener on bench and then went for the single-ply all-time record and tried 947 twice, but just missed both times. Roger Ryan pushed his record of highest bench over the age of 50 even higher with a 722lb bench (could have probably gotten 740+ it went up so fast!). Bill Gillespie set the all-time masters record benching 804 in single-ply at age 49. Great stuff!
I'll post pics and vids when I have them uploaded.
