Ive just started working out hard again after a several year hiatus. And ive been studying this board hard, getting ideas from you folx, and here are many quality ideas to be had by the way. I was reading an article on creatine when a memory from about 6 years back came back to me. See i used to work out with a guy named Bill "Grizz" Taylor. Im sure a lot of you have heard of him, he's pretty well a legend in Arkansas and nationwide in the Master's class. Dude's been lifting since the mid 60's and has seen it all, hes had outstanding success powerlifiting and has tried about everything thats come down the pipe in the last 40 or so years. Anyhow about 10 years ago he was telling me about this new stuff "creatine". Said it was about the best thing he'd ever seen or head of. Had big increases in strength, mass, and endurance. Well he was fine for about three years of using it. When he started feeling ill. He noticed his strength and mass we dropping quite rapidly so he went to doc. They checked him out and he had developed a fissure in his colon and his feces was leeching into his blood stream. He went from 220 to 160 in about a month dude to the massive infection. When theu did surgery they found chuncks of what appeared to be chalk stuck all in him. It turned out to be creatine that hadnt properly been processed by his body. The doc told him it was probably because he didnt drink enough water with it but dude drinks at least one gallon per day, even in the wintertime. SO needless to say he doesnt take creatine anymore lol. And neither do i, the guy knows way more about lifting than i ever will so ill just take his word for it. Think ill stick to Salmon and beef.

I really wish it wasn't. Its about the most incredibly filthy thing ive ever heard. It's a legit story and the guy is legit. Heck i don't even know if he is online but if he is its a pretty good story and im sure would be better if he told it himself. Hes a living encyclopedia on weight lifting as well. In about 92 he went to russia and lifted in some sort of international masters meet and placed second i believe. Too hard core. When i was 19 i was lifting with im and a dude named erby. I was a total powerhouse, first team offensive tackle in a AA school in Arkansas, i was 6-1 200 and could bench over 200 pounds!!!! Erby comes over and asks if i can spot him, im like yeah, i can do nearly anything. He told me to spot him he was squatting like 800 pounds. I walked under one end and put my shoulder under the bar. HAHAHA i couldn't even make the bar sway, quiver, nothing. Told him to go get another spotter that if i threw myself under the bar i dont even think i could slow it down.

It's a true story. I think what happened was that after decades of "supplements" something just backfired on him. Maybe his body requires more water, there was also the thought raised that the chunks of creatine may have caught a fish bone and the bone itself ruptured his colon. Who knows, but i cant wait to get him posting on here.
