Been working out for about 3 months, noticing good gains but want to lose some fat as well, mostly around the gut.

I know in order to lose weight you need a caloric deficit, but I also want to eat enough to keep building muscle, so where is the line? Do I just eat less than I need and sacrifice the bulk, or is there something else?

Thanks for the help!

age:24
weight:170
height:5'10''

routine: 4-5 days a week about an hour each day...
splits: mon-chest tues-back/shoulders, wed-legs, thurs-arms
I do 10-15 mins of abs each day and cardio 1-2 times a week

Can't gain muscle and lose fat at the same time under normal circumstances. Pick one or the other. If you're gaining muscle but also more fat than you want, just back off the calories to a smaller surplus.

If you're going under 170 at your height, you will look like a skeleton. I have no advice for you as far as cutting goes. You need to gain some muscle, which means put on some weight.

I'm 2 inches taller and 10lbs lighter and I don't look like a skeleton.
