Decided to record myself for the first time the other day at the gym and wanted you guys to tell me what you think of my DL form. Any critique would be appreciated! first one is warming up with 225 and the second is a single with 315 at a different angle. JiBfY5Ys_hY

Or it looks ok. If I were you, I would be pulling conventional right now. As for the Sumo style, I like to get a little wider with my feet and drop down a little bit more.

Definately not wide enough for sumo, IMO. More hip drop at the start of the pull as you squeeze it off the floor.

thanks for the replies. first of all joey54 why would you be pulling conventional if you were me? im just curious because i still do pull conventional sometimes, im not real sure which style i should stick with, or if continuing to use both would hurt anything. and to address both of you, i kinda figured i wasnt wide enough for it to be technically "sumo" but this position i use here seems comfortable to me. if either of you have watched "mightypitbull"s (i think thats his name.. 500lb dead at like 165 BW) video on here i think my stance is comparable to his.

If it is comfortable go with it. I feel getting a good strength base with conventional pulling is important and would serve you well.

Whatever feels comfortable, use. I have short arms too and pull sumo. So I like a wider stance(feet at rings) to get hips down more for a better drive off the floor. You look good though.

I think your form is fine. I prefer conventional, but if it's comfortable for you, go with it. :D

By the way, that guy on bench (in the 315 lift video) was watching you pretty hard!
