Metroflex in Plano is going to have a strongman comp at the their gym july 31st.

There is a guy who used to post here under "PorkChop" who trains in that area. He has a tire and a few other implements at his house - will shoot him an email to see what his schedule is.

Travis Ortmayer lives outside of Houston (Cypruss, TX I believe).

Brian Dobson owns a gym called MetroFlex in Arlington, TX which is only about 25 minutes from Dallas. A friend of mine trained at MetroFlex and said that they had some good strongman equipment and some strong guys there.
