You have a belt squat machine and you haven't used it?

When I'm in Arizona (and probably will be there permanently later this year), I workout at The Village in DC Ranch. The weight room is somewhat small, but it's certainly the nicest and most gorgeous facility I've ever seen.

Not many pictures, but it's nice. Awesome pool area, too.

Get familiar with it, it rules.

Also get familiar with that reverse hyper and the GHR.

There is SO MUCH equipment in that gym. 4 leg extension machines and about 10 chest press machines? Lordy

I don't know Travis, how many leg extension machines did you say you guys have?

I thought about taking a video camera with me to Cell Block tonight, its a mini westside. Brent even has the same machines Lou does, has the standing bench machine and everything, haha

That power press thing will kick your butt.

To the OP, your gym looks great, I just felt like bustin out a video of Westside.

The only thing I found remotely impressive in that gym was the belt squat, the competition bench, and the power rack with band pegs. Otherwise it just looks like a bunch of hammer strength equipment. I worked for a fitness eqiupment company doing deliveries, so i've been in some pretty ridiculous gyms.

The ARC sucks... people need to stop doing 15 sets of 55lbs on our Forza and hogging the squat racks for curls.

Pretty mad gym mate, I'd be happy to train there. Is chalk allowed? Can you "drop weights"?

Dracoy

No one has yelled at me for dropping weight but chalk is only allowed on deadlift platform. Been yelled multiple times :p

That sucks about the chalk :(

I'm going to be a freshman at U of I this year and my dorm is directly across the street from ARC (one of the reasons I picked it, lol). When do you guys usually train?

Usually at least a few people in there everyday - most people will get there around 5:30. I'll PM you the email address of our president so you can have a chat with him.

I was at U of I 11+ years ago and there was nothing like that. IMPE and some other random places. I ended up getting a membership to a gym in Champaign which was my first foray into working out at all. It is great to hear that there is a powerlifting team and real gyms there now.

I've never been there, but Ironsport Gym in PA looks about as close to a dream gym as I've ever seen in pics - strongman tires, stones, implements, PL equipment, platforms galore.

Dumbells dont go up heavy enough. Other than that I could work with it. They would stay pissed at me with chalk benching though.

Haven't used the belt squat machine, admittedly, though they do have Keiser air resistance racks that are basically like using bands except you can do much finer adjustments.

I agree they have WAY too many expensive foo-foo machines but that's okay, it keeps most of the masses away from the good stuff.

I worked for a fitness eqiupment company doing deliveries, so i've been in some pretty ridiculous gyms. You forgot about the multiple platforms with bumper plates, the reverse hyper, and GHR apparatus. I do wish the DB's went a bit heavier (120's just doesn't cut it) but other than that it's a good place to train. Another good thing is the climbing wall and the fact they have plyo boxes (I do box jumps on them oftentimes) and foam rollers upstairs. As for them only allowing chalk on the platforms, I use it all the time on a lot of things and nobody's said jack to me about it.
