View Full Version : Another PR this week...

Last week I posted a video of my 430 raw bp. Today I I done my DE workout where I done straight weight as listed

then for old times sake I dropped back to 315 for repout. I done 16 good reps. My previous record was 10. So it was a 6 rep PR for me. I felt like I had at least 2 more in me but throttled back.

I don't put much faith in the max calculators but they estimate me at a 475 x 1RM based on 16 reps.

I don't have a video but I promise it was all good ;)

Two weeks PR in a row is really good for the old self esteem. I feel great!

Can't wait for my next meet in a month to see what I can do.

Great work brother!!! Are you doing anything different? What do you attribute the increase in strength/ PR's to?

I think three things are helping my lifts RC.

1. I took a 3 week deload, my lifts had become stagnant and I hadn't moved up in a long time. My joints feel so much better.

2. For the first time I am using protein and creatine religiously

3. Variation in my training routines

oh, and can't forget my training mentors here on WBB. Thanks guys!

awesome work JM!

One thing I will note, for DE work the reps must be very fast. My best raw is 530 last time I tested it and even I can't move 405 fast enough to consider it DE work.

Vincent is a 600+ raw bencher and I don't think he's been able to move 405 fast enough for triples for DE work, although I'm sure he could for singles

*no Vin, you should not be doing speed singles*

Travis, next time I do straight weight DE I will stop at 365. I can still move that weight very fast for all the reps. The 385 was slower and the 405 was SLOOW.

Jason198, Unless something comes up I am planning on coming to the Mothman Open.

Tank, thanks man!
