View Full Version : No carb effect on sleep?

2 weeks ago i started carb cycling.
On my No carb days i´ve noticed sleeping disorder, sweaty out break during the night for example.
I used to eat 40 gr of protein in water before bed time but yesterday i drank 300 ml no fat milk, 40 gr protein and 50 gr peanut butter and sleept like a baby!
Is that because of lack of nutrition or what?

It's not the same as what you're talking about but I get ungodly insomnia when I'm going VLC, but only for a day or two. I don't know what causes it.

Is there something wrong with eating fat and small amount of carbs before bedtime when cutting?
I of course keep my macros in check!

When do you workout?
When I did UD2, I was done with my workouts around 7-8 p.m. That was enough time to eat, read, watch some TV and crash. Those depletion workouts were enough to make me sleep like a baby at night. I'm not sure how a morning workout would play.

I recently took up morning workouts, as i said, drinking 300 ml of milk along with peanut butter and protein helps me sleep, i´m just worried if it has negative effects in the cutting cycle...

Yes I can't sleep well on low carb. As long as the milk/pb/protein fits your daily macros then go for it.
