Sweet work, man! Always awesome to hit a PR. Out of curiosity, what does "assist." consist of?

Nice work man. I know what the feeling is like cause I hit a deadlift PR a few days ago. I did 355lbs x 7 and all I saw were black dots everywhere when I was done. Nice work and keep it up!

Thanks. My assist work on DL days are just 5 x 10 DL and ab work.

I thought that was what you are getting at. That's a whole lot of deadlifting, man.

One of the assistance templates Wendler has in his 5/3/1 manual is Boring But Big.

Main lift - 3x5, 3x3, 5/3/1 depending on day.
Assistance 5x10 main lift, 50-60% of 1rm.

Then some ab/back work as needed.

Yep, I'm aware of that. I was just mentioning that that is a whole lot of deadlifting, is all.

Andre,

Holy cr** man that's a lot of reps on the DL brother! So you're doing the 3x5 wave this week I assume and hit x8 on your last set?

Anyway, great work man!

Yes you are correct. Yesterday started the beginning of my 3rd wave of 5/3/1 and I feel good. After this wave I plan to have max week then change out my assist work for all four lifts.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys really means a lot.

I followed that template for 16 weeks. It made a pretty big difference in my deadlift form and max lift. It is a lot of deadlifting, but you do get results. I've recently swapped my assistance work around and will follow that for awhile. 395 lbs X 8 - nice work!
