Just kidding, but now that you're here, wanna take a look at my bench? ;) Any input on setup and technique would be appreciated. Chip Tallman showed me how to set up but that was a couple months ago now and I'm not gonna get a chance to get back to his gym before my next meet :(

Thanks all,

Drive your heels toward the floor during the press.

Pretty good set up and form, but like Ryano said drive the heels down.

speed bench is just that speed. as fast down as you go up. no pausing, just get it

As fast (down) as you can go with control, but I'd agree with Eric in that, those presses looked rather slow. Might be too much weight

I did. You'd be surprised what will pop up on a google search when people are looking for that kinda thing. We don't exactly want that kinda traffic LOL

How can you drive your heels down without raising your but off the bench?

You have to really push into the bench and not against the bar. I know that doesnt sound like it makes sense but once i figured it out my sticking points where less...sticky?.

How can you drive your heels down without raising your but off the bench?

you also can spread your legs farther so that you cant lift your but but you still get leg drive

If you push up on your hips and squeeze your glutes hard prior to taking the bar and your butt is touching the bench then it won't come off during the press. You might have to widen your feet a bit or even move them out a touch. Just experiment until you get it right. I agree with the others, that's too slow for DE. You are getting a lot of advice here, but don't let it effect you negatively. You are on the right track.

Does anyone have any good exercises I can do to develop a bigger arch safely?

If your are driving your heals you are pushing up the bench not off the bench. Your ass comes off the bench when you drive your toes!

haha I deffinatly wasn't expecting to get this much input - thanks everyone :)

I've been working on getting my heels out and down but apparently not hard enough :D . I'll post another one of my benches at my meet to see if it's improved.
Is the press itself too slow, or just the decent? I'll get another vid today with a quicker decent just to see if it's still too slow with that weight.

Travis - I suppose it's probably a good thing to change the title then; not sure I want my video popping up when people are looking for that :D

Thanks again all!

Just something like "Huge naked tits!" or similar - not sure I want my video to be the one people are watching when they're looking for that kind of vid hahaha
