I'll be finishing up my current routine in a few weeks. It was a simple 20 rep squat routine. I was thinking of giving the Texas Method a shot. My goal is to bring up the big three. Currently they are (~) 300 bench, 400 squat, and 450 deadlift. Here is what I have so far:
WORKOUT A:
Monday
Squat 5x5 (across)
Bench 5x5 (across)
Deadlift 1x3
Wednesday
Squat 2x5 (80%)
Press 3x5
ROWS 3x5
Friday
Squat 1x3
Bench 1x3
SLDL 3x5
Workout B:
Monday
Squat 5x5 (across)
Press 5x5 (across)
Deadlift 1x3
Wednesday
Squat 2x5 (80%)
Bench 3x5
ROWS 3x5
Friday
Squat 1x3
Bench 1x3
SLDL 3x5
My questions are:
I want to add skull crushers because it is a good assistance exercise for my bench. I want to add curls (direct bicep for balance) because I'll have bench, press and skulls for pushing and only rows for pulling. Lastly, I'd like to add some weighted situps. Where should I add these, or would it be alright to just add one to the end of each day?
My last question is, while doing presses and rows on recovery day, is it alright to push them hard? I assume it is just a recovery day for squats?
I was also thinking of subbing the max squat day with a 20 rep set about once a month.
