View Full Version : enough cardio with diet?

I made a thread before wondering if I was doing enough cardio (15-20 miles a day) and I was. But with work and other things going on I don't usually have the time for it right now. So assuming my diet is in check for losing weight, would 5-7 miles a day be sufficient? It usually works out to 30-45 minutes of mountain biking. Trying to see my abs by the end of summer :]

If time is an issue you're better off going for a run, you'll burn the calories faster.

Zero cardio is enough with the correct diet.

That's true, although I usually end up cheating a little too often... >.<

Got down to 190 in half a year now I've been stuck there for half a year.

Sounds fine, you can even trim the cardio for 20 minutes but with a challenging resistance(on bikes). You're not only burning calories in short span of time but puts your body into "hard" mode with the exercise.

If your gonna use cardio to aid with fat loss, try HIIT.

Yeah i'm thinking about doing HIIT as well. I'm not gonna stop mountain biking though, it's a hobby as well. I've been stuck at 190 forever now and my diet hasn't changed at all really from the first 55 pounds I lost. I'm guessing it's time for a change in diet too; more strict?

Scarz: yeah currently it is. I can't afford to go to a gym right now. I know it doesn't cost much but I literally am only making enough to pay my rent and car and insurance etc... Barely can afford food. Trust me though as soon as I can afford it.... But I figured in the mean time I could focus on weight loss.

So what do you guys think? Start doing HIIT and eat better? I don't currently count calories or anything. I just healthy food when i'm hungry and I don't eat all that much.

Anyone wanna send me a weight bench? Haha jk :)
