Since we're about a month out from this meet, I thought I'd make a thread.

Who's going to be there? Who is lifting? Hows training going?

I'll be there handling a few on Friday and one on Saturday. Looking forward to it!

I heard Carrol will be back for the Pro am. So if he is 100% i think Panora might be in trouble.

Al Caslow will be there along with Tom Boling from SOS. Frankl, Cartinian, and Wilson from Big Iron will be there. If Frankl goes 220 he will throw Krocs record out and set the mark higher.

is carrols cutting to 242's? i thought he was done with that class and going to stay in the 275's. that will be a heck of a cut. i hope he does though. id love to see those guys go head to head again. last year was close till carrols injured his bicep in the deadlift

Trust me, in a meet, it will be over 700 lbs. At Westside, with their deadlift bar I pulled 700 pretty easy. I lost my grip at the top, but only because I had torn the **** out of my thumb with 6 something during warm-ups (and that was because I had torn it weeks earlier and never let it heal properly).

I forgot about Carroll, that will be a heck of a battle at 242!!!

If the tape is working out for you Chris, there is something in the rule book about using medical tape on deads...I know a guy that does hook with tape at meets, and its legal...they don't want you bleeding on the bar!

Dont forget J. Frey. IF he goes 242 it will be a 3 way dance. 275'er is Chuck going 242 or 275?

242 I believe

It looks like the 242's are gonna have a crazy line-up.

275er, is Dave Hoff gonna do the 242's as well?

Dave Schwab

Not sure about Hoff, Travis might know. He was looking huge this weekend helping Harrington, had to be far above 242.

After seeing Frey this weekend, I really doubt he will be going 242 anytime soon.

No doubt frey is huge but I know all these guys cut a ridiculous amt of weight now. Is there an entry list out there i know normally this time of year you see one out but I havent seen anything this year. I wish I could lift on Friday but time off is hard to get from work now and I dont really have the money to ride up like I did last year. Should be a great one though!

Only a few such as Kroc cut massive amounts of weight. Panora doesn't cut a ton, I haven't talked to Frey personally in awhile, but knowing how big he has been, he may have to shed a few easy lbs to make the 275 class.

Really I didnt realize he had added that much weight.

trav, 25-30 pounds is about the average cut these days.

So 242s will have

Panora
Carroll
Frey
Chuck V.

.... and then little ole me if i can keep my weight up over 220 haha

sam, are you going to try to retake the squat record at 242?

MarcusWild

I thought Panora is 265-270, cuts to weigh in at 242, and then puts it back on...

I really wanted to lift on Friday this year, but it's not happening with my shoulder. I'm still a few weeks away from being able to put on my shirt again.

Travis Bell

Nope. Greg is under 260 as it is right now.

I think sam is going to break chucks record. Im not really sure how everything will pan out, but it will be fun in the 42s. I hope frey does cut. He is an awesome lifter.

Im not, but whats that have to do with whether i compete or not!? haha im always training, just not in gear. Ive been in the shirt a couple times and feel confident in it for the first time. Got in my squat suit once last week and hit what wanted. Ill pull something on tuesday and see where thats at then i guess im just waitn and guessin till the meet. Im never one to train in gear anyway so im not worried, i just base my attempts on what i did and go from there. Should be fun. i dont have any predictions, my only goal is to finish this one; third time's a charm.

I hear you man. I didnt think you would have time to even think about a meet with the move your making and all. I have been working with your former training partner Phil H. on my squat lately, I think Im finally starting to get to where I need to be. Go hit something huge man.
