G'day guys and gals,

I helped spot/load at the PL nationals at the weekend and thought you guys might be interested in seeing a vid of some of the big lifts from the weekend.

PL is still small in Australia but it's growing!

I'll try find the numbers for the lifts but I know the two DL's at the end were 340.5kg and 350.5kg.

Cool stuff tom. I'm looking forward to the CAPO/WPC Nationals and the Strongman nationals, we have two strongman freaks that are pretty much guaranteed to win and the powerlifters that are going MAY break some records.... 165 bench may be reset.

Ah not sure I saw a bloke called Paul Ney lift Doc, I was loading the bar in between lifters though so I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to announcements at times haha.

This was an IPF meet though, does he lift in IPF or maybe CAPO?

It was awesome to be there mate. The big bald bloke with the beard is Nathan Baxter, he totalled about 900 at the meet (and he had caught the flu the week before!). After he locked out his second deadlift (@approximately 1:30 in the vid) he held the bar up and stuck his tongue out at the crowd haha. Once he put the weight down the judges deliberately waited to put the lights on just to mess with him haha that's why he shakes his finger at the judge.

Odell Manuel is the bloke deadlifting at the end and he totalled 916kg (2015lbs) in the 125kg (275) weight class. Odell has only been Powerlifting for about two years, before that he was a rugby player. This boy is going to be big.
