hey guys, somewhat new to the board as far as posting and need some added motivation. have had to take the whole summer off due to changing jobs and moving. so i started back this week adn wanted to gauge my overall strength, so ive spent the week testing my bench, DL, squat ad front squat lift. keep in my mind i wast trying to split my sack, but get some waits i can start from
6'1 225
35yr Old
paused bench 315(no spot)
DL 465
squat 485(no spot)
front squat 335

im wanting to get some gear ad have been advised to start out with some briefs. any ideas on what program to start back with?..west-side, bill star, wendler, sheiko?
thanks guys

I think you are going to get alot of different opinions on this. But out of the four different style of programs that you mentioned, I have only used Westside and thats what i'm currently using. I have never tried the other three and I don't really know much about them. I have heard that Wendler's 5/3/1 program is really good for building raw strength and has been very successful.

When it comes to what someone can get out of suit, everybody is different. With a brief/suit combo you can get @300lbs out of it or more. A conventional puller can get somewhere between 50-65lbs out of a suit. I have seen some get 100lbs, I think a sumo puller can get more. Alot of this depends on the type of gear, wether it's a single ply or double ply or with/without velcro straps. Not to mention how tight you wear it, some people like tight gear some don't.

What federation do you plan on lifting in??? This will help you decide on the type of gear you need.
