Quick question, Im still doing SS, and the routine says to do 1 set of 5 reps. Would it be best for me to just touch and go, or put it down and reset the whole thing? I have been reseting each rep, and I noticed I get tired faster that way. I noticed it yesterday when I just touched the floor and went up for the first time it was a lot easier.

I did 405x1 for one rep last week, and then the last 4 reps I had to lower the weight to 350. It was a mental thing for me, for some reason I couldn't do 405 again. I would just like your opinion on which is best to do to get stronger.

Thanks!

Some people touch and go, some deload completely. I'd personally deload and reset, it's called a deadlift for a reason.

Always deload each time to get the full benefit of the deadlift.

I'm a fan of banging out reps. (But not too crazy.) I know in the Westside book of methods, Louie's not a fan of paused benching due to the stretch reflex lasting up to two seconds in trained lifters. I think it might state something similar w/ regards to deads.

1. If you're weak off the floor then pause and reset.
2. If you're weak at lockout then touch and go.
3 If you're form gets worse with each rep when you touch and go, then pause and reset.

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I'll stick with reseting each rep. Also thank you for the info Marcus I'll keep that in mind if I ever have any problems.

I like to deload completely because it gives a chance for all my muscles to work im not training to cheat myself out of a good self induced ass kicking.

Brain,

Reset each rep brother! "Dead" means no momemtum off the floor, just like in a meet. T&G develops more reversal strength, which you do not need in the DL

Good luck
