View Full Version : Pesto is your best friend (weightlifters)

I was eating dinner last night, chicken burger with pesto , and realized how great pesto fits in the weightlifters diet! So i just want to pass it on to those that don't know what it is. Pesto is Basil, Parmesan, Almonds, Olive Oil, and Garlic, put through a food processor. Amazing stuff. Then you can mix it into mayonnaise for an awesome sauce for meals. Give it a try, its good stuff! (better homemade FYI).

Pesto is actually Olive Oil, Basil, Pine Nuts, and Garlic. You can add the Parmasean if you like, but i like it just like that. The pine nuts can be expensive, but they really make it taste authentic.
Its great for you and calorie dense.

my mother's homemade recipe uses almonds instead, and uses Parmesan. its excellent stuff. i'll miss it when i go studying abroad.
