Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know how many Bencher's out there do direct forearm/wrist work.
The only direct work I do at the moment is hammer curls.
Thank you.

Yes forearm work is important for your stablizers and wrist work is a must for heavy benching
Hey Rob, could you elaborate a little more on what you do/reccomend?

Any exercises in particular you would recommend?

I like to use grippers from heavy grips, I will also do pinch grips with a 25lb plate, some wrist curls, we also have a fat bar dumbell we use for single handed deadlifts. Most of our benching is also done with a fat bar.

I squeeze my Iron Woody on a regular basis. I also squeeze the bar on every lift, like I'm trying to put dents in it.

Well I'm not "a bencher", but I do grip stuff like this too. I do the captians of crush grippers, the grip machine, rolling thunder one arm deadlifts, plate hub pinch lifts ( 45's are easy now )... Last time I tried, I could almost pinch grip two 45's together. Personally I think grip strength is really important, it hasn't really helped my bench, but IMHO it's still important.

I knew exactly what you were talking about man. Sorry for the crude adolescent humor, haha.

I've been doing wrist/forearm rope work lately. It's definitely helping.
