I'm getting up tomorrow around 5 AM and will be working out at 6 AM. Usually I work out in the evenings and eat a larger carb lunch than usual followed by afternoon protein.

However, how do folks here typically handle early morning workouts, in particular, meals prior to it?

I really hate working out in the morning but I have to sometimes if I have something going on that evening. Here is how I do it..
6:00am wake up, 1 scoop nitrean in 6oz water, 1 banana
6:20am walk 3mph on treadmill for 10mins
6:30am start my workout with a few lights sets with just the bar
8:00am 8 eggs(only 3 yolks) 1 cup oatmeal, glass of milk, maybe some fruit

It really depends...
I have the digestive tract of a 90 year old, so most things in the morning cause me major stomach discomfort.
Although, the general consensus, even from the non-intenstinally challenged, seems to be to keep it light.

Keep in mind you are going to be pretty insulin resistant in the morning, so you need to negotiate between giving yourself enough carbs to raise your blood sugar levels appropriately, while at the same time not overeating and sharting in your mesh shorts in the squat rack.

Nitrean and a banana is a good idea, I would probably even throw some chocolate syrup in to get the blood sugar levels back up.

Also, forgot to mention that I sip on 8oz of grape juice with creatine 500 in it during the workout.

I used to get up, knock back a shake and half (or a whole) banana, then off to the gym for a Body for LIFE workout.
As long as I had 20 mins between the banana and lifting, i never had stomach issues.

I wake up at 3:30am, in the gym by 3:50am. Soon as I wake up I hammer about 2 cups of chocolate milk and take some NO2 with me to the gym.

After a quick 5 min warm up/stretch I'm usually good to go, although fighting off yawning the entire time I'm there.

Alarm: 545 am - get up, put water on to boil

By 6am have my oatmeal mixed. (1/2c oats, 2tbsp PB, 1-2 scoops opticen)

Eat 1/2- 3/4 of my oatmeal on the way to the gym.

Get to the gym... spend 10-15 minutes in the restroom... letting my food digest and getting rid of the food from last night...

Lifting by 7am at the latest. - Drink RESULTS during

3 scoops of Nitrean after WO and finish the oatmeal

I usually get up by 6 AM to hit the gym. I never really eat beforehand unless I lift later in the day.
