i am going to be entering my first competition in one week and i want to know if i should warm up to my raw max then put the shirt on and just do one adjustment set but not try to lift around my opener and stretch the shirt out or should i put it on and do a couple of set until i am at my opener?

I always take a warmup shirted lift to a 2 or 3 brd. I use a weight about 30-50 lbs under my opener.

For the most part, do whatever you did when you used the shirt in training. A meet is not the place to try something completely new. I wouldn't work up to a raw max though. I would only do 1-2 sets of singles after I put on the shirt with the last one at least 20-30 lbs. under your opener.

Sean S is right on on that one. Do NOT warmup to a raw max. It's a warmup, not a workout. To many new comers get in the warmup room and load the bar way to much. The competition is on the platform, not the warmup room. I've seen people actually miss lifts in the warmup room. Leave your ego at home and do a light warmup. Save the energy for the platform, where it counts.

at a meet I feel more comfortable working up to 225 for my last raw warmup. Then I shirt up starting with 315 and go from there, which isn't much because my bench sucks.

I do similar to what Ryano suggested. I do my usual raw warmup...for me (415 raw max) I do Bar x 15 or so, 135 x 10, 225 x 5, 275 x 5, 315 x 3, then add the shirt and do 3 board 405 x 2, 2 board 495 x 1 and I'm good to go. Usually open about 540's - 550's.

If I were to guess, low-mid 4's. I really don't know what my raw max is.

You want the shirt to warm up to your bodyso the fibers are ready to respond. You should be doing at least 3 or 4 warm up sets in a shirt Don't have to use crazy weight unless your me.
