I am in college, and very strapped for cash. I tried doing 1g of milk a day but it gets too damned expensive. Anyone know of any near equivalents I can use? Thank you.

It's a tried-and-true, old time bulking trick. It's an easy way to get a lot of extra protien and calories into the body.

How much does a gallon of milk run in NY? I thought NY is a big dairy state. Here in colorado its about 1.59 for a gallon. Honestly I don't think you are going to get any bulking food cheaper than milk.

Yeah, milk is cheap as hell. You could use powerdered milk if you can find it on special, but seriously, work an extra hour or something?

You are fortunate. It is about double that here in Canada.

If you can't find a cheaper alternative and 1 galleon is breaking the budget why don't you drink half a galleon? There's no rule saying that you must drink 1g exactly and half a galleon is still a fair amount.

Or do as risk said and work an extra hour.

LOL I do buy mine from Costco when I don't get it from Walmart. I seldom buy it from a 7-11 where it costs about 50% more than Walmart. We have this crazy thing called milk marketing boards which seem to limit price competition for some dairy products.

On the upside, our milk has been tested and shown to have less BGH and other drugs than some other countries.

It's also a cheap place to pick up protien powder...but you never know what brand they'll be carrying.

I worked at Sams club for 5 years over my undergraduate degree. They usually carried EAS brand chocolate and vanilla in 5 lb bags for 30 bucks, stuff was nasty as hell. They also carried myoplex drinks recently for a short time but they didn't sell worth crap so my guess is they won't carry it much longer. Here in colorado, wal mart and the local grocery store chains carry cheaper milk than Sams or costco. Weird huh?

I wish chocolate milk was 1.49 a gallon. Man, I would be all over that.

There are other calcium rich foods like that of milk. You can eat cheese because it has also calcium. It's quite affordable than milk as well as it's delicious too.

you guys have it good. 2L or milk in Australia is about $4. That makes it almost 8 bucks per gallon.
