Well I did it. I hit a 5lb raw pr and I did it as a master. 605 went up much easier this time around. I really wanted to prove to myself that I'm still getting stronger. I came so close with 620 on my third attempt. It was a little heartbreaking, but a pr is a pr and I am happy with that.

This is a big milestone for me so I am going to say a few thanks. First one goes to my wife Jessica. She puts up with a ton from this nonsense and I could not have done it without her. Rhodes has coached me throughout this process, you could not have a better guy on the platform taking care of you. Brian, Josh (who hit very solid lifts today and walked away with a bunch of pr's), Karsten, and Drew, you guys are awesome training partners. Thanks for the constant help and encouragement. My brother Sam also came out and that was great.

Thanks for the support from everyone on WBB. This site is the best forum on the net. I am so appreciative of all the assistance I get from Chris, Daniel, and Travis. The backing of AtLargeNutrition helped me realize this goal. Thank you.

I cannot forget to mention what a great meet Gene Rychlak and Robert (TeeTee) McRay put on. The equipment was first class. Everything started in a timely fashion. Judging was fair and consistent. What more could a lifter ask for. It's great to have the IPA in CT. I highly recommend you support them if they come to your area.

This experience has really proven to me that even though I am getting older, I can continue to get better. I'll set my mind on some new goals for the future. I still have some gas in the tank.

also I'm curious how do your shoulders feel after doing heavy reps like that? i guess compared to lifting in gear.

Incredible job Vin! 605 looked EASY. 620 didn't look hard, just like you got out of that groove and when you're moving that fast a small error turns into a big one. You definintely have that in you! Congratulations!

Thanks everyone, it was a great day and a great way to end my summer. OK, the diet started today. I also went walking outside in the heat and humidity. It usually takes me about a week to work up to the length of walk I did today after competing in the superfatties. I am very motivated to get rid of my overweight low back burn.

Very impressive although, I guess your butt doesn't have to be on the bench in the IPA. Il have to check the rule book.

Don't mistake flexing of the glutes as the butt leaving the bench. The man has a bit butt, it was still in contact with the bench I am sure.

:( Good way to make friends and influence people.. with only 12 posts to your credit you need to read more and post less.

Here is a link to the rule book: IPA Rule Book (http://www.ipapower.com/Forms/IPABY-LawsComplete2.pdf) Feel free to peruse at your leisure.

My butt is rather big and the back of it stayed on the bench. Believe me, if a side shot had been taken you would have never seen daylight. Chris is absolutely right, you are seeing me flex up, but the tush never loses contact with the bench.

Thanks for the sarcasm, much appreciated.

Clearly when sean51 routinely benches 605 for his warmups his a$$ technique is impeccable.

Things are good. I moved out to PA a few months ago. I'm still training, got a bit sidetracked from injury(non lifting related) but working my way back up. I'm at IronSport near Philly and have been dabbling with some of the strongman stuff there a little, its great. Good to see you're doing well!
