Ok I live in a country now filled with 90% Muslim (BTW if you didn't ask what religion they were you'd never be able to tell), many of them about as devote as the average American to their respective religion.
However a girl that works for me takes it more seriously than others and currently it's ramadan. And a part of this is no drinking, no eating between the hours of 4:30 and 7:30 PM. Now the no eating part that's fine, and the no drinking part understandable too.
However today the girl and I got stuck into doing a lot of running around the base I did my best to keep her out of the sun (it's hot today) taking as many rides as we can and stuff. Well it wasn't good enough, she dehydrated and passed out I got bring her to the ER, she'll be fine but seriously people shouldn't take Religion this far, on a hot day they should at least allow for water.
Now she'll spend the night in the hospital on fluids to re-hydrate her and tomorrow she'll be released so she's fine. Just I wish some poeple would understand their limits and put their own health ahead of tradition. Plus it's not even that strict here. A lot of my friends don't even follow it, at the least the ones that work because they say they need to earn money for the family so they can afford to live.
