Browsing the supplement website ive seen creatine in cap form rather than powder. Seems like a great way to get the creatine without all the carbs, or am I missing something here as people seem to go with the powder???

You are missing something.
There are pure creatine monohydrate powders. The mixes (carbs and creatine) are just for conveniance, as it is recommended you take a powder with some kind of carbohydrate to help increase the absorption.

The caps just say take with water, does this mean they aren't particularly effective then?

They are fine. The powder can be taken just with water as well. You will absorb more of the creatine if you take it with a carbohydrate, but that's not to say you won't get any benefits if you just take them with plain water.

Go with the powder. Caps may be easier to take but the cost compared to powder isn't worth it. IMO

Either way, creatine works. Chose one of the ALN products, follow the directions and see how you feel as you go along. I am a firm believer in the benefits of creatine.

as long as your getting 5g. of pure monohydrate your good be it pills or powder but price wise powder is the way to go.

Results (http://atlargenutrition.com/nutrition_detail.php?products_id=23) might be something you can consider seeing as it not only contains creatine but also HMB and beta alanine. It also has dextrose in it. When going for plain creatine mono i would suggest taking the powder, because not only it is cheaper, but you can also more easily regulate your intake. With caps you are limited to a certain amount. Creatine 500 (http://atlargenutrition.com/nutrition_detail.php?products_id=3) will be great seeing as it is made of Creapure, which has the best potency.
