I get a third of my protein from protein shakes, and another third from trim milk.

Are there any problems with this? If I got it from food sources my calorie count would be too high.

I'd like some answers from this as well. I want to make sure most of my protein is good protein.

I dont see any problem with it, as long as you make sure you get your vitamins and minerals as well. Your last point is incorrect however. Protein is the same all around, so getting it from a shake or from food will give you the same calories. I understand that you mean that along with protein, there is often fat or carbs, however there are foods that you can eat that have strictly protein. Think of tuna, egg whites and chicken breasts.
