If i do not have acess to a box squat at my gym can i use a bench? I guess that would be parallel? If not any other suggestions then joining a different gym LOL.

benches are usually too high unless you're 6'4"+
if your gym has some of those aerobic stair step thingies, use those they're surprisingly strong.
if worse comes to worse u can stack plates.

Make your own box!
And yes, a bench can work sometimes. There was a low one at my old gym I used sometimes

I would either make one or find something around the gym that you can use.

I use a bench most of the time; it is a bit high but does the job.
As others suggested the aerobic steps are pretty strong so you could always give those a shot if your gym has them.

You really just have to get creative
I will say this though, as a young boy, I attempted deficit deads off a reebok stepbox and ending up blowing it out

if you stand in the middle yea, you'll blow the step up.
if you sit/stand on the end where the thing is supported you'll be ok.
as far as how high you can build them up...

Most benches are 17", but on some you can lower the adjustable seat side a bit to about 15" which is just parallel for most. Thats what ive been using

just build a 10" box, a 4" box and a 2" box, then you can stack any combination of the three also you can add foam, mine are 24"x24" at those heights i mentioned (10,4,2)

Just make one stack of the aerobic platforms and top it with a plate (depending on the height/shape of the plates in your gym)
