Ok so it's pretty likely im going to have to have surgery on my left shoulder (possibly a capsular shrinkage) becasue the joint is too loose. I have already had stabilisation surgery on my right shoulder last July so I do know what to expect, I was off weights for 3 months on my previous surgery and lost quite a bit of size and strength but I think I could have done more to preserve it (I didn't eat much and did no exercise at all for a month after the surgery, not even legs). For this operation I want to do as much as I can to preserve what muscle I can, I know I am bound to lose some size and strength and I know the good effects of muscle memory as I experienced with my previous layoff. But I am wondering what diet and supplementation advice would be good to help preserve muscle after surgery and hopefully not lose as much as last time, I will be training my legs still with what machines I can use whilst my shoulder is injured (i.e. leg press, leg curl etc). I have a very clean diet and will be doing some cardio on the exercise bike.
Thanks
