I have to go to the local sporting goods store to buy more 45 pound plates and add to my collection. :strong: Picked up 2 more plates yesterday to up my collection to a total of 12 plates of my own. I have a small fortune tied up in my private collection. The good thing is that it's mine and I don't pay gym memberships!!!

That is always a good feeling when you run out of weights to put on the bar... nice work.

You might consider next time buying used plates. Much much cheaper than new plates

In fact I was at a gym today that was selling them for .50 cents/lb

If I had to guess I'd bet you paid close to $1/lb

yes, exactly a dollar a pound after taxes, Travis. Two plates cost $90 and some change. I acquired most of my plates through a gym that closed down. Through that place I got 4 plates and dumbbells (40,45,50,55,60 & 70lb) all for $250 bucks. All the rest of my stuff I've paid retail for.

I peruse craigslist often for used stuff but it is just not often available in my area unfortunately. Most of what shows up for sale is the old standard sand weights.

Jim - Is there a "Play-It-Again Sports" near you? They sell used fitness equipment at reasonable prices. Not as cheap as you might find on Craigslist sometimes but there are still some good deals there.

Look for them used. I have a place where I can get them .30 a lb.

Great job on needing more plates.

I'm sure it's an awesome feeling to keep going in and buying 45lb plates.

Doesn't happen too often tank, lol. At least not as often as I'd like to.
