THe bikes, well because
*theyre cheap we got a sweet connection with asian bike companies
*petrol costs an arm and a leg, we pay almost for a litre what you pay for a gallon
*holland is densely populated, so most things are nearby. This also makes parking space a bigger problem and its hardly any problem with bikes.
*our average inhabitant is not so fat that a short ride would exhaust him
*holland is incredibly flat. flat like a mirror. there are no hills you would have to cycle over.
*We are not allowed to drive a car until we are 18 years old.

Reinier you are a very bright person to be 16 years old in my opinion. I doubt many 16 year olds I know would look up a word in the dictionary and break down the entire meaning to see how it relates to "one word" they think is part of their personality or makeup.

That's cool, she's your sister. But you don't measure yourself against them. You have set your own standard. I don't know if all kids of your age group over there are like that, but it's nowhere near as common in the US. I swear, American teens can be a bunch of lemmings.
An example: Last year a group of 10 kids decided to jump off a 30 foot bridge. Most of them did it because the others were doing it and didn't want to be not part of the group. Not one of them said "Are you out of your damn mind?" or something like that. Nope, they just all jumped of the bridge and came to my clinic because they were hurt. All old enough to know better too. The next 2 days in my shop were spent taking x-rays of stupid teenagers with stupid preventable injuries.

Last night i took a side, torso turn photo (what do you call that pose anyway) a front lat spread and an arm pic, last one really just to show the seriously weirdo stretch marks i got going on on that left arm.
i took them myself in the mirror, and the lighting was slightly weak, but well see. i got like 12 shots left on that film. i think ill finish it at a party this saturday.
The last few weeks ivegained weight like a bastard.
just too fast to all be muscle, even while my strength went up.
obviously i put on some fat.
im going to look at those pics of me at 228 again now and see the differences with it from the mirror.

I just talked to my sister on thwe phone for like an hour and shes not feeling well shes a bit ill and she can hardly eat anything. She sounds like she hasn`t slept or eaten in a week.
Her best few friends all have new guys and are around them all day so shes all alone in her new room that she moved into and made nice all week. By doing this she was short of time to study her test this week and she failed and shes worried about my dads reaction. She has gotten very little sleep lately
and she has ALOT of work to do. She says she has reached a point where shell drink alcohol even before she goes somewhere because it masks how pathetic things are.
Life in her students home seems to consist of staying out all night drinking, sleeping till the afternoon, ordering a pizza and going out again, and shes tired of it mentally and physically.
I also heard her last bf, who she dumped a while ago because he was talking dirty to an ex on the phone (pathetic) has actually up to now still been in contact with her.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Sometimes it just takes a person coming in and helping out to get a better understanding. Be patient but helpful, she'll come around.
Where do you run? I used to have problems with my knees and the only way I can run now is barefooted on the grass or sand. Anything else kills my knees.

My sisters nearing the end of her second year in uni actually.
I ran by the dike. its a beautiful day here. cold, but no wind, crystal clear sky and sunshine.
I was the only person in the world.
my cardio condition sucks. I ran maybe 600-700 metres and was sweating and gasping. hung round bit there, attacked a tree, and went back.
I have bad feet and i could feel that my calves and tibs were having a hard time stabilising stuff.
I`m getting a new appointment with the podotherapist.
my knee was... ok tho. but annoyed. It feels like it swings around with every step.... sideways pressure.

What dilemma...
I was already feeling bad cuz i was invited to 2 parties tomorrow night and had to choose and now my sister called if i could come over and spend some time since shes all alone now, not feeling well and i havent seen her new place. Shes not feeling so well, and i dont see her enough and i like her town. I wanna go, but its hard, cuz the guy whose party i was going to is my good friend and workout partner ronald who was just telling me on the phone how he had made arrangements and bought stuff for the party.
I think the other party is some competition and hes already getting fewer guests than expected...
Im training with him this afternoon. Id feel sorry to tell him. I`m also not entirely sure what i want.

Go be there for your sister. Back in my younger days I'd have probably chosen the party. :mad: But it sounds like your sister just needs someone close to her to be with her a day or two. You never know...it might make all the difference in the world in her outlook on uni and stuff if you visit. There will be many more parties.

went to the bond movie yesterday was the first bond ive seen.
Mixed feelings. It keeps you looking alright, but its a bit infantile.
Went to friends place and watched a dvd, slept over there, hung out at his place till the afternoon, went to see some friends doing their ballroom dancing test after that, was ok, lot of people i know hanging out having a drink in the ballroom. now im here.
I got told I`m not assertive enough and i take too much **** from people and it really got me thinking.
People do regularly make jokes at my cost and i dont get mad, may even laugh if it was funny, but i dont confront them about it or what. surely thats why they pick me.
Earlier this week a guy told me i was "typically the kind of guy who doesn`t get any respect"
I did feel insulted and i asked him why he thought so and he couldn`t really explain... Im sure a lot of people would have socked him on the spot. Id eat him for breakfast, no problem, but fighting is not my style. Ive been reconsidering that tho. maybe it should be.
I also met a girl I had a crush on last year again she was extremely friendly and sweet, but she still made me feel bad. she seemed almost as tho she felt sorry for me, worried even...
not good.
A girl who I have known for years and had a few crushes on in the past is slowly going totally out of my life.
I`m not sure if im sorry or not.
If I met her today im sure I would not be impressed with her at all and not care a dime, but we have some history and shes been a large part of me for a while. I`m feeling im not getting too much respect or interest from her anymore too.
My mother just arrived back from her holiday in Austria as i type this. going to see her now.

first time again.
squats 95 k 5 reps deep and slow. not really to failure but the bar went down on my back. my own fault was faffing around with the grip too much. could have made it 6 or 7, which would have been a PR.
Knee felt fine.
95 k 2 reps my legs were all cramping. not normal. probably from the skiing.
leg extentions took these light and slow cuz they are heavy on the knees.
60 k 12-15 slow reps or so. burns
70 k 11 reps
leg curls cramping man.... couldn`t so these properly.

Had my first ballroom dancing class today, went with a girl from my class. At first when she asked me to go I was doubtful because she seemed a little too eager if you know what i mean, but i learned that she was just eager to dance, rather than eager to dance with me.
We stepped on each others toes a few times, and after you get the steps its another thing to set them to the rhythm, but for a first lesson i think it was decent.
Shes cool. She moved here alone with her mom from the Ukraine when she was 12 and lives alone with her. She is very impressed/proud with her.
A lot of people in school dont give her the time of day because shes very stressed, with these big gestures and nervous but I think shes misunderstood because shes more mature. She doesn`t mind either. Shes very classical.
I got my booking info and tickets etc for my trip to Austria next week. I`m going by myself on a trip with an organisation for youth holidays, its 14 or 15 to 19, i do hope theyre not all on the young side. I went with the same organisation to the same place before, with my sister then, 2 years ago. Its nice, Its the atmosphere of a camp kind of thing, but its still nice and decent, because they really just rented out a hotel and replaced all the beds with bunk beds.
The hotel is right on the slope too. so no walks or drives to the lifts.
Getting my hair cut today. I always like my hair short, but others tell me they like it long and I dont like getting it cut often. so its always a question how long i let it go

I will start to lose 1 lbs every week starting now. i will do everything in my power to keep extremely hydrated get enough sleep and eat my meals in time.

Yeh I hate how non fitness people try to tell you that bodybuilding/weighlifting of any kind is no good for you. Yet they sit on the couch eating chips, and like we're gonna listen to them.
I take my training seriously, I think nearly everyone on this board does. We're a minority. My family and friends don't understand that it makes us happy to get bigger and stronger. They just think it's a waste of time. They only see things on the surface i.e: lifting weights...boring...change the channel...lol

True. the thing is i am 6"4 with huge hands, hips, feet, head(lol) 8 inch wrists, shoulders. I would be over 200 lbs even when im really really way skinny. I`m 255 now, down from 260ish. pretty high bf.
They just think it is silly that with a build like mine i still want to gain muscle mass in the first place, and when it involves gaining fat along with it they think im entirely mad.
I think a really large skeleton with no muscle on it still looks empty tho. but anyway im cutting, like they have been pushing me to for so long. so they should be happy

I know exactly how you feel. I am 6'4 as well and it seems like it is easy to put on fat, but muscle is a different story. Best of luck with the cut. Sounds like determination will not be a factor.

We had to form a real life situation in school for first and second graders and speak foreign languages to them and grade them on their fluency.
The lack of english skills in the lower education first and second years was pretty shocking. they needed to do these 5-10ish sentence convos that they knew in advance and could prepare and still many were completely unable to make a point.

My hair is longer than I ever had it, and i just promised myself never to have it cut again, in the full knowledge i will break this promise.
My mother is a loud madwoman. she runs around the house making weird loud noises and doing totally stupid imporsonations. She just used something thats meant to cover a foodplate from insects or whatnot to do a weird bee keeper. I guess its still better than the time my mother and sister both acted like they were retards together, trying to get my dads attention after he had somewhat annoyedly asked them not to disturb him. They were just a bit too good at it.
I wonder why my friends think I`m mad, coming from this family.
School break is around the corner and i have nothing planned. no holiday booked, no job arranged, no girlfriend to see.
I hope ill be able to do stuff.

I was just watching Mezzo the other day, a french channel that airs classical music concerts.
This french dude, kinda young, with hair like bob ross, sits down behind the grand piano and starts playing what I thought was Wagner or something. Damn that was crap. It sounded to me as though somebody had put down completely random notes. It didn`t seem to tell any kind of story or communicate any feeling. And this whole hall full of people sitting there listening in awe. The pianist was making all these gestures and so serious faces. The piece was full of these long silences in which he was waving his hand or whatever to keep in pace.
I sat there listened and watched for like 15 minutes, trying my hardest to appreciate it. Didn`t work.
He then did some Arnold Schonberg, which wasn`t much better.
I usually enjoy the stuff they air on there, but damn.

Went to my stepnans funeral way in germany yesterday and the day before. It was really hot, peaked at 39 degrees celsius.
Travelled for like 7 hours there and back.
had dinner, drank and talked, slept in hotel, had breakfast, went to funeral, had lunch and left.
Some of the german guests were putting on an annoying show,
the new gf of my stepnans son, her daughter and her mother were all there and were crying and everything. The daughter never met my stepnan in her life and acted all devastated.
The ones crying and playing sad the most were those who knew her the least. It was rather pathetic. I think they tought we were being disrespectful too. we got some disagreeable looks.
When I die I sure as hell dont want anyone acting like that.
And i dont want no priest telling people how they feel and using empty horoscope language to describe how interesting and rich my life was.
and i dont want no organ music, or funeral workers who tell jokes and have fun amongst one another, then step over the chapel treshold and put on their mourn face as in an instinct.
I dont want to be taken out of my grave after 20 years so somebody else can lay there.

My 20 year old sister is home for the weekend and we would have a barbeque supper in the back yard.
Just before we would eat i was in my room watching some porn. (I mean, its not like everybody doesn`t watch porn)
my sister comes into my room, I have stairs that lead only to my room.
She notices what I was doing but ignores it, turns around looking at my books to give me a chance to get my act together.
*ok, it sucks, but it happens to the best of them, and shes dealing with it well.*
She goes down into the yard to eat, and when i follow some minutes later I sit down at a table where my sister is arguing to my father over irrelevant details.
After dinner, just hanging out in the yard, she asks me to show her my belly cuz she wants to see how i look. She starts insulting me saying im a fatass and i just look fat, not like i workout. (This is a common thing it seems, she does this all the time... btw, she has a higher bf% than I do and she doesn`t even try to change it)
I tell her I realise I`m not lean and I`m working on it and its going well.
She says she doesn`t exactly see or believe it.
(keep in mind this exact discussion has taken place at least 100 times)
She then makes a nasty comment about her catching me in front of my folks.
At this point im eating a large grilled potatoe. Annoyed as I am I start to loosely throw little bits of it over to her.
One piece fell into her collar, down her back and apparently was very hot because she burned herself.
I was eating this potatoe and i was unaware any part of it was painfully hot, let alone that it would go down her shirt.
At this point she gets up, walks up to me and starts getting her hands on me.
I push her back with no more than necessary force.
She comes back and smacks me over the head as hard as she could. this was moderately painful and not the nicest gesture.
She runs inside, I`m unsure whether it was to get away from me or to put water on her back.
I yell after her she should realise im not sorry about anything.
I go to my room, clean up a bit and study.
I go back down to clean up the table in the yard. Theres a big jug of water on there, she empties it over me.
I stay completely calm and tell her she can clean up then and that was uncalled for.
Im about to go back inside as she comes after me and tells me she will make my life miserable, that I`m a fat bastard and some other things, and pushes me inside. I push back and stay where I am.
Then she puts her arm around my throat.
I give her a hard low kick to the side of her waist and a moderate jab on the neck. She goes down slowly, crying.
I tell her it serves her right and she had no reason whatsoever to come back at me, and I go inside.
My mother cried too, she wanted to have a nice get together with the bbq.
That was about 2 hours ago. my sister hasn`t come out of her room yet.
My mother just came in and says i might have hit her too hard.
I told her I disagree
She is a 20 yr old Uni student who lives alone. Youd say she would be more mature.I think I was completely right to do what I did and I will not apolagise.

I just saw this person on Mtv Cribs, I think her name was Paulina Rubia or whatever.
I had never heard of her before, she seemed to be this model/quasi mysterious poppy singer.
basically just saw she was rich and hot and had the whole mysterious nonchalant thing going on, rather than cute thing or trashy thing. Very hot, Blonde hispanic

I attended the funeral of a chickfriends mom today.
I was close to her for some years and we hung out and did stuff.
I had a crush on her too. This year i havent seen as much of her.
Her mother had been fighting for cancer for like 6 years.
It was a funeral that went the way the woman would have liked and the way the husband and kids liked it.
I think she appreciated me and the others from school being there.

If i get called by the school between 10:00 and noon.... im toast and im gonna be doing the same material, hanging out with younger kids, and hear the same lame teacher jokes for a year and my parents will have to pay another years worth of stupid school money.

there is no minimal grade for passing.
we have a system of points that goes from 10 to 100, worst till perfect.
a 60 is sufficient to pass anything.
I take lik 15 subjects. if for one subject i have a 5.6 average, i have 4 "minus points"
If you have 10 or more minus points your passing is questioned and discussed in a teacher meeting. if you have 15 or more you fail without discussion.
I believe I have 12ish minus points this year

Heath, to be honest i never really tried before. I never really had to. except for "Last week of the semester" save your ass studying sprints.
Its time to get back into it. i have not trained for most of June.
I was busy studying and focussing on other things. I still kept my diet good all the time, give one or two exceptions. (yesterday was one)
I`m going to train legs today, harder than i ever have before. I`m gonne bring a big towel to the gym and need it.
Im going to take measurements of all my muscle groups, weigh myself and keep a perfect diet.

Today was a great day.
It was 28 degrees Celsius and with Hollands notorious humidity plus the fact there was almost no wind and no clouds, that makes a good heat.
I live in a small coastal town inhabited by a close knit community of somewhat fundamentalist protestant christians.
This town lies on one end of a small oblong island in the south west of holland. On one side, only about 250 meters south from my home, there is a lake. West and north of me lies the North Sea and to the East of course the rest of the island.
This lake is about 50 kilometres long and full of small green islands that are uninhabited except for the birds that sometimes breed there, some wild horses and the occasional yaught that rests there.
The water in the lake is salt, about 1.5-2 times as salt as sea water, and so clear one can see the bottom even when the water is all but shallow. The water is clean because there is no industry of any kind shipping stuff into it.
The salt never stopped a range of animals from living there, or me from swimming in it. Some people complain when they get it in their mouth, but that hardly ever happens to me, could be because ive been swimming all my life.
When it does happen it only reminds me of the times in the past it did, when I was still small.
When you go out of the water and it dries it seems to pull your skin tighter, a pleasant feeling that gives you the illusion of being busy tanning fast and having lower bodyfat.
This lake is separated from the land by a grass overgrown dike.
Not far from my home there is a simple line of stairs over this dike that leads to a bright white strip in the water, a strange sight to most, a lagoon of which the edge is defined by a stretched heap of white shells.
Incredibly slowly, as the lake knows no tide or stream, only wind, an incredible number of seashells washed up here. for literally feet and feet down the surface consists of seashells, the most intact ones on top, the most grinded ones down.
Walking over it you hear a constant creaking or crunching sound of the shells grinding and breaking under your feet.
Nobody usually goes there, sometimes somebody brings a dog there because the water is shallow for a long distance and they can play so nice, but people prefer a sandy beach where the surface is more inviting to walk and lie down.
Today I took a plastic foldable easy chair, sunglasses and a book and went there, sitting down way on the tip of the strip. I sat there the whole afternoon and read my book, (the Procedure by Harry Mulisch, ive almost finished it, its genious) had a dip in the water and just relaxed.
I still have videos of myself as a toddler clumsily but enthusiastically waddling over "the little shell beach"
(Its a shame english doesn`t have a way to make a noun small other than putting little in front of it, in Dutch we add -tje right behind the word and it makes it sound like language you speak to a small child)
in a funny looking colourful striped singlet and pointing at everything I saw. Its like our family place... nobody else seems to go.
On old man with a sunwithered skin who moved slowly like a praying mantis was picking oysters at a fair distance.
He had a small dog, black and white. it was one of those dogs that was small and cool, not one that is small and seems arrogant or stupid, like chihuahuas do. It ran around with its head up high, curiously, his legs bearly being able to keep up with his eager head. When I came there it came toward and accompanied me all the way to the end of the strip, walking right by as thought he were checking I was not doing anything he would find disagreeable.
It was the kind of dog you are likely to anthropomorphise. When the dog later walked up to me again his owner followed, called it back and sayd "its lovely isn`t it"
There were some small seagulls there, flying around the bright blue sky that was still clouded with bright white cloud here and there, looking almost like the white stained, like the salt lake went up on the sky and back into place, and the salt dried up on the sky like it did on my skin.
Right across the water in the direction i sat down lies the biggest island in the lake, with a beach, a minimalistic dock only big enough for one small little boat, grass and trees and nothing more. Last year when I took some friends sailing on the lake we swore we would camp on that island during the current summer and have the best time.
I dont even hang out with the same people anymore.

I weighed 107.5 at 9.30 in the evening today. It seems im losing weight some quicker than planned. 8 days ago i was 109.7 at the same time. 1.22 kilos a week. im not changing anything i think... i was planning on 2 lbs a week. im not worrying

Yesterday Friday Trained bis, tris and shoulders. weighed 108 at 6 pm. did OH presses, 24 k dumbs for 8 reps, second set for 6 or 7 not sure, then side raises with 10 k dumbbells and kinda slow form, about the same nr of reps. then worked tris doing close grips, skulls and a set of cable, then curled dumbs, curled barbell, then hammer curled dumbs.

I have a fun low budget boat for myself, complete with 3 different sails, trailer, all the stuff. These are some pics of boats of this type. Its a lightweight polyester racing boat with a retractable sword which takes the role of the keel. Mine has a sail that is slightly bigger, this kid seems to use a smaller one in better proportion to its weight. some people call these sitting windsurfboards, i guess theyre not that for off. It handles quite similarly

weighed 106.7 at night last monday and had a leg workout that was ok but im sucking at squats. It seems i cant do a full set at all cuz if i go light enough its too light to keep balance. this is weird, my quad circumference is huge.

I got the boat second hand.
got it with 3 sails, a trailer, blade, rudder, lines, the works for 1250 goulders at the time. now in euros thats about 570 euros.
so like 600 dollars or something. I got a real good deal tho.
They were like 9000 when they came out i think, and theyd only have 1 sail. But its an old model now they have like 3 newer series.

Ive been slacking my journal
Ive still trained and dieted tho.
I now weigh about 100 kilograms (220.5 lbs)
and i have not lost strength in pulling or pushing, but i have lost some in squats/deadlifts. and somehow my calves actually got stronger. Im a bit bothered by the squat thing. My quads dont look smaller. they look better really... some more definition. tho still not close to being cool.

I cant wait to be out of HS... my highschool is ages 12-18, with pyramid demography. im one of the few 17-18 year olds.
Uni is going to be cool, even if it is going to suck.
I need to improve my grades to get into medical.
but i have a bit of an edge because these days in Holland more girls sign up than guys and they allow 50/50. so that helps me a bit.
For now, I have 3 more tests in each subject, and then exams.
Anything can still happen really. I could still get high enough grades to get in without even having to draw. but that would take discipline. and I have none.
Im doing English homework now. Im writing a 750 word opinion essay on social class segregation.
Yesterday I deadlifted. 3 sets of 8 reps with 110 kg.
Next week im trying the same thing with 115.
that was a leg day btw. I now alternate between squats and deads on leg days
