Hi,

Just curious as to how these help your bench?

Is it meant to bring up your work capacity?

I have heard people say it has helped their lock-out but I'm not sure why it would (no I am not trying to go against what Louie says here-just interested).

Thank you very much.

Where did you hear it?

If you think you got it from me, you misread my log. I used this for extensions for awhile, not pushdowns

What type of tricep extension would you recommend doing for 100 reps? After my meet, I want to start doing it.

Hi Travis,

No I read it in 275 log also Louie says it in one of his DVD's.
He said 100 reps 3 x per week can really help your bench.

Thanks.

I think I remember it from the Westside seminar DVD, Louie recommended it for an extra workout - and he's used it the extra workout article on the website.

Louie uses that kind of work as a form of "support" for heavy training. It aids recovery.

Do you think it would help out a sore elbow (mini band pushdowns) or make it worse?

It depends on what is causing the soreness. I would say give it a try and see what happens.

Yeah I will give them a try nice and light tonight and see how it feels, thanks.

Is that one ov his 'restoration' methods?

Bands are much easier on my elbows. I've done this quite a few times as a type of restoration. My tris usually feel like they're going to explode and it's hard to wash in the shower. But the blood definitely gets flowing and it doesn't kill the elbows.

Also, nice to see ya here Judas!

For my first few years of training the only accessory work that I did were Pushdowns and Dips, with an occassional set of close-grip bench.

I like the pushdowns because they don't seem to put any stress on my elbows like extensions do - but I would not count on them to build a huge bench. Perhaps muscular endurance but definitely hypertrophy.

I do 100 rep light band pushdowns 1-2 times per week for recovery.
