Gotta work this weekend, but I'd love to see what Mendy's going to do... I'll check the results out online. Hope he goes for the 1100lb. again! He is an awesome competitor.

Lol, it's just another attempt by him.

I understand that he wants to break his record, but really...why doesnt he just start setting like 5 lb prs instead of going right to 1100 which we've seen him fail with before?

I wonder the same thing, he would probably have better success. Isn't his best 1025lbs that he did at the WPC Worlds last year?

Scott Weech?

One of the guys who I train with sometimes is going as well (David Hansen). It is cool that those guys have the opportunity to compete on a relatively large stage while the top Americans are at WSM.

Does anyone know if Andy Bolton is going to be deadlifting again this year?

Ya Mendy is no doubt a good bencher, but maybe get some lifts in like a 950 opener at least for confidence esp if you blow it out of the water. I mean i know he wants 1100 and all but is it better to keep missing lifts consistenly? or to do lifts on how u feel that dayand maybe win the meet and possibly some cash?

Yeah it's Scott Weech that is competing. I think it's his 3rd Pro Strongman event. I happy for him that he has this opportunity to compete with all those top competitors.

Scot just missed 1085 on his last attempt at WPC Worlds after making the 1025. He pushed it up strong and just couldn't quite keep it locked. That was after working and handling his wife Maricel and sister Shawna, and handing off all there lifts and warmups on Saturday. I was announcing on the benches and deads Sunday and got a real good look at it from the score table. He has the strength. When it all falls together he will hit 1100+. I'm confident of that.

I've never understood why so many people seem to have such a negative opinion of Scot. He is a very personable and cool guy. He is a blast to hang out with and tells some of the most halarius stories you've ever heard. A bunch of us went out to eat after Sundays lifts and Scot was the life of the party. I think maybe his physical presence intimidates a lot of people from trying to get to know him.

He's pretty amazing to still be benching and especially benching so huge after his accident. A lot of people don't know that a few years ago his ankle was crushed in a car wreck. It will not bend, even after several surgeries he walks with a noticable limp.

I was at the worlds last year also, and I got to see him bench which was pretty cool. I just couldn't remember what he ended up with. He does seem like a cool guy. I do think it's sad how people talk so much s**t about the guy.

The only people who slam him are the internet super heros that know all soo much better that he does. I'd rather see him go for what HE wants to do rather than just set 5lbs PRs y'know? I mean, a 1100 is just un-thinkable to me!

I like Scot very much, but I will give "MY" honest opinion here. I agree that Scot is a very personable and funny guy. However, most people don't get a chance to know that Scot. They see the Scot who can at times be surrounded by an entourage when preparing and lifting. I know as a competitor, I get very angry with the fact that Scot never abides to a clock rule and holds up contests. Lastly, I hate that he bombs so much. It's not good for the sport. With his strength he should be able to open 900+ all day long. Now that's a crowd pleaser. If we want to get sponsors, increased spectators, more money, etc you have to give people something good to see. He's got 2 other lifts to go after the record.

Scot is undoubtedly one of the strongest benchers of all time. I know he works very hard. I also know he gives back a lot to the sport. If this gets back to him I hope he knows it comes from a friend not from a hater.

Scot's a nice guy one on one, I talked with him some at last years WPCs the day before he lifted.

Lots of rumors about what happened at the Olympia, he had to get escorted out by security from the venue?

Just 1000 is un-thinkable!!! Its insane that someone can actually bench that much weight.
