my truck has had 4wd problems since May and has been serviced extensively.. its currently at the dealer again for the past week. its a 2007 avalanche ltz with barely 24k miles. this has been really aggravating. half of me wants them to fix this once and for all but the other half really wants to get my money and buy something else.

how did it work when you filed the final notice to repair to the dealer? did you goto arbitration? did you retain an attorney? if so, how much were the fees? did you finance or pay cash? if you pay cash, did the maker provide the full value of your original trade also?

I'm not familiar with the Lemon Law, but I'm extremely surprised at it having 4WD problems at such low miles. What exactly is going on with it? I'd get my money back and get something else.

the problem is that it was made in mexico. GM saved a couple grand on labor initially but is now paying for it in future sales, mechanic hours, and my truck occupying a bay for 2 weeks.

the tranny and transfer casing are acting up. guy at the dealer read me a laundry list of parts that are on order for both components... so i might get it back in another week. in the mean time, in the words of the service rep, "you have a rental right? so who cares how long it takes?" once its done, I'm going to have an unpleasant convo with the service manager.

I have a 2005 Chevy Z71 and it just turned 100,000 miles. No problems with it, but it's the first truck I owned with the push button 4x4, which I hate. I'd rather manually shift it into 4x4.

I think I'd be tempted to punch someone in the face if they told me "who cares how long it takes?". Good luck with everything.

I read what needed to be wrong wil a vehicle for the lemon law to apply and you need to have a lot go wrong a lot of times.

I do here's how it works

The same problem has to go wrong 3 times.

This is extremely rare, I've seen it work once. Guy tranmission would go out constantly. Service Reps had no idea how to fix it, Chrysler gave him a new car and took the old one back.

.......

I know the technical aspects. thats not the problem, I qualify for that easily. I want to know what was done during arbitration & how the administrative process panned out.

I wasn't that deeply invovled in the whole process.

From what I understand is that he turned the car in, he was provided a rental and we did the paperwork once paperwork was completed we delievered him into the same thing which he already bought.

He wanted to change veh but he was told he had to stick to the same thing he already had. He was happy with it overall.

But then again this was overseas and mandated by the Military that we do this. So we didn't give him hassle or anything over it.

Our Lemon Law policies maybe different then in the states. We still sell American vehicle to soldiers however do the UMCJ, SOFA agreements, Custom Concerns, and local laws we are most likely very different.

So here's what I understand (I wasn't deeply involved)

1. There was paperwork, annoying large amounts of it
2. He had to get the same car minus color (color could change changed)
3. It took about 4 weeks to complete.

a member over on myg37.com just recently filed for lemon law and won. I can PM you the thread if you want, not sure if he'd want me posting his case everywhere.

You didn't explicitly say so, but you did purchase the car new, right?
