View Full Version : Taking 6 weeks off

Alright in December i'm heading out to go visit my family in Europe and the States i'm going be gone for 6 weeks and for the majority of this 6 weeks I won't be able to lift.

Any advice for keeping the numbers up?

I guess doing bodyweight/band exercises and eating a lot is about all you can do if you don't have access to a gym

I hear they have gyms in Europe though

Lol, they do have gyms in Europe. I'm not going to any big cities.

I'll be able to hit the gym in Georgia though, parents live next to a military base and It'll be laid back when I see them.

Band work and lots of good food, hit it hard and heavy before you leave so for the first week you will be recovering.
I went away to Thailand for 11 days 15 months ago and the day after I got back I hit my first 400 bench, 6 weeks is a bit different though.

rest, relax, recover...... there is an amazing lifter on my team who took 2 months off he has gone over a grand in a few big meets, with a meet pr around 1080...... his first week back he went to 600 in briefs, 800 in a suit the next week, and 1025 this weekend....... granted he's a freak of nature..... but hey a little rest won't hurt anyone
