Nov 8th is my 1st meet and I have been training hard. I just finished up my 6th or 7th wave of 5/3/1 for my squat and deadlift, and a 7 week bench program. This week I totaled a 1280 @ 241lbs. I hit 400 squat, 550 deadlift and 330 bench. I'm not to sure what I can do over the next few weeks I do not want to over train or lose strength. I was thinking of doing some singles this week then for the remaining weeks use moderate weight and really focus on form. Right now I have to do my benching at Planet Fitness do to transportation problems. The 7 week program I was just doing had me benching 2x a week. Should I keep at it maybe a heavy day and a speed day? I would like to total 1300 at my meet in the 242 class. Any advice or tips you guys have will be great.

Stick with the program you have been doing. A week or two out you should be working up to your openers. Everything after that should be light and easy.

Whatever you normally would do. I would avoid maxing out on anything, but heavy 5x5 should be fine.

Set up on whatever rotation you are using, don't change anything this close to a meet. The normal routine our guys use is, Three weeks out you can go heavy, two weeks out take it really easy, and one week before the meet hit your openers and take it easy.... keep up any assistance workouts you do just keep it really light to flush everything. The day before just chill out, weigh in, then eat some carbs that won't make you feel sick....... Good Luck.......
