Usually pointer on the ring is max width.

You can get a little wider then that, I think the rule is that you can't be able to see the ring on the bar, if you squish the skin on your hands correctly, you can get wider.

Cheap bars may not have rings at 32". My bar I painted rings on it because the rings were at 35".

Index finger on the rings when shirted... Pinky on rings when raw (more tricep dominate)

Depends a lot on your arm length. If you have long arms like me, go as wide as you can legally w/o losing leverage.

It depends on the fed as to what is allowed, I think. APF/AAPF is 81cm.

Is it unusual to be stronger raw with a more close grip, like pinky on ring? When I was in a shirt the maxed out grip felt a lot more natural than it does raw.

OG,

Most shirted guys I train w/ go pinky on ring while benching RAW. Also, it engages the tri's more. More tricep work, so It helps w/ your lock-out while geared.

It tends to be a lot easier on the shoulder joint as well... Esp. us older, masters guys!

I am a little stronger raw with forefinger on rings maybe 10lbs but feel better with ring finger on rings (better on shoulders as Rob said).

Shirt index on rings is best.

Index finger to the rings on both raw and equipped. Less rom and more lat involvement.
